Canons House and Grounds is a community project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund. The project is being undertaken by Merton Council.

 

Merton Council (London Borough of Merton) is located at Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, SM4 5DX. The Canons House and Grounds project team sits within the department of Environment and Regeneration.

 

This website is owned and operated by London Borough of Merton and is hosted on the Wix.com platform.

 

The content of this website is intended to inform you about Canons House and Grounds. We will use this platform to update visitors on the progress of the project and to let you know about any opportunities for involvement with the project. We will also use this website to provide you with information about visiting Canons.

 

 

How we collect your information, what information we collect and where your information is stored

 

We only collect your information directly from you. This could be:

 

  • When you complete the ‘contact us’ form on this website (your name (if provided), email address and message)

 

This information is stored on the website and on our affiliated email account (Gmail). We will use your data to respond to your enquiry. Please note that we may respond through either Wix or our email account (info@thecanonsmitcham.co.uk).

 

  • When you sign up for our newsletter mailing list (your name and email address)

 

This information is stored on the Mailchimp platform. We will use your data to send you our newsletter by email. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking the link in your most recent email sent from Mailchimp.

 

  • When you enquire about volunteering opportunities via the website or email

 

This information is stored on our website and email account. It will also, when necessary, be stored on Merton’s secure database.

 

 

Sharing your information

 

Your information will only be used by the Canons House and Grounds project team within London Borough of Merton and will not be shared with any other organisations.  

 

If in the future we do need to share your information with other organisations then we will ask your permission beforehand. We will not share information without your consent.

 

 

How long we will keep your information for

 

Mailchimp

We will keep your information for as long as you remain on the Mailchimp mailing list. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time. You can contact us if you would like your information to be permanently removed from the Mailchimp database.

Website 

 

If you submit an enquiry via the ‘contact us’ form on the website we will retain your information until December 2022, which is when the lottery-funded project ends. If you would like your information deleted before this date please email info@thecanonsmitcham.co.uk.

​

UPDATE1: The Lottery funded project has been extended until September 2023. Any enquiries submitted through the website up until December 2022 have been deleted, in line with the above statement in this policy. Any enquiries sent between December 2022 and September 2023 will be deleted September 2023.

UPDATE 2: The Lottery project is now running until end December 2023. All enquiries submitted up until September 2023 have been deleted, in line with this policy. All other enquiries will be deleted at the end of 2023.

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you.  You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data. Please email us with any such requests.

We reserve the right to change and/or update this privacy policy. We will notify you of any changes/updates in this section of the policy.
